Bell, Burbage Earn A-10 Weekly Awards

Andrew Bell tabs Men’s Performer of the Week, while Lindsay Burbage secures Women’s Rookie of the Week accolade.
WASHINGTON – Sophomore Andrew Bell was named the Atlantic 10 Men's Performer of the Week, while freshman Lindsay Burbage earned the A-10 Women's Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Tuesday afternoon. The award marks the first for Bell, as Burbage collects the second of her career.
Bell placed first in both events on the boards as the Minutemen defeated Bryant 172.5-115.5 in a dual meet on January 6. Bell earned a six-dive total of 409.05 in the one-meter, breaking his own previous school record (385.43) from earlier this season. In the three-meter dive, he scored a 364.28 to secure the gold.
As the Minutewomen won 188-88 in their dual meet against Bryant on January 6, Burbage won two individual events and helped the 200 medley relay team to first. In the 100 breaststroke, the freshman placed first with a time of 1:05.69, while finishing first in the 200 breaststroke, recording a time of 2:26.47. Burbage and the 200 medley relay team swam a combined time of 1:45.86 to finish first.
Massachusetts returns to the pool on Friday, January 19, for the Tate Ramsden Invitational, in Hanover, New Hampshire at 5 p.m.
