UMass Enters NFHCA National Coaches Poll

AMHERST, Mass. -- Massachusetts field hockey has been ranked No. 20 in the Penn Monto/NFHCA Division I National Coaches Poll after week one, the organization announced Tuesday. 
 
The Minutewomen received 78 votes, entering the NFHCA poll for the first time this season. 
 
UMass receives the ranking after beginning the 2023 campaign with an impressive 3-1 record, including a 1-0 shutout victory over Lafayette in their most recent matchup. The Minutewomen began the season with two road victories including a 3-2 double overtime win over then No. 19 UAlbany in their season opener. 
 
UMass returns to action as it heads to Orono, Maine for a neutral site clash with No. 2 Northwestern on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. Broadcast and live stat information will be made available closer to gameday.
