Dion & Dubsky Represent UMass Men's Track & Field On Academic All-District Squad

AMHERST, Mass. – Two members of the University of Massachusetts men's track and field team have been recognized among the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom as members of the 2022-23 Academic All-District Men's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators. Representing the Minutemen on the list are seniors William Dion and Daniel Dubsky.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 29.
Dion, a kinesiology major, Placed fifth in hammer throw at the Atlantic 10 Championships with a toss of 181 feet, 11 inches, the No. 4 all-time mark in program history. The Plymouth, Massachusetts native finished sixth or better in hammer at six meets this outdoor season.
Dubsky, a biochemistry and molecular biology major, finished sixth in 400m hurdles at the Atlantic 10 Championships in 53.99 and also placed fifth in event at the New England Championships (53.71). The Natick, Massachusetts native won 400m hurdles at the UMass Pre-Championship Invitational & the UMass Commonwealth Invitational and finished third at the UMass Flagship Opener & the UCF Black & Gold Invitational.
