Men’s Hoops Signs Mathok Majok

The 7-foot-3-inch center from South Sudan averaged 12 points and 11 rebounds at Bridgeport Prep in Connecticut.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts men's basketball head coach Frank Martin announced the signing of Mathok Majok on Tuesday afternoon. The 7-foot-3-inch center from South Sudan joins the Minutemen following a season at Bridgeport Prep in Connecticut.
"The excitement about who Mathok can become as a basketball player is what coaches love," said Martin. "He is a humble, hardworking, young man that's been gifted with a 7-foot-3 frame. He has great footwork, can really run, and has really good hands for someone his size. We're excited for the obvious shot blocking and defensive presence that he can bring to practice every day and for the player that he can become as he continues to develop his offensive skills."
Majok averaged 12 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks per game last season at Bridgeport Prep and reclassified from the Class of 2024 to the Class of 2023. The center scored 21 points and added 11 rebounds with eight blocks against Putnam Science Academy.
