Massachusetts Hockey Unveils 2023-24 Schedule

The Minutemen will open their eighth season under head coach Greg Carvel on Saturday, October 7.

AMHERST, Mass. – Seventeen home games, including a pair against 2023 Frozen Four participant Michigan, highlight the 2023-24 Massachusetts Hockey Schedule, which was announced on Friday. The Minutemen will open their eighth season under head coach Greg Carvel at the Mullins Center on Saturday, October 7, against Western Massachusetts foe American International.
 
UMass will then host the Wolverines for the first time on Friday and Saturday, October 13-14. The following weekend, the Minutemen will have another first, traveling to Mankato for a pair against Minnesota State on Friday and Saturday, October 20-21.
 
On October 27-28, Massachusetts is set to open its Hockey East slate with a home-and-home against Boston University, beginning at Agganis Arena for the Friday matchup.
 
Coming off a bye weekend, UMass will host Vermont for a pair on Friday and Saturday, November 10 and 11, before heading to Providence on Thursday, November 16. The Friars will then visit the Mullins Center on Saturday, November 18.
 
The Minutemen will wrap up the month by making their first trip to Harvard since 2013 as the squad is slated to face the Crimson on Friday, November 24. The teams last met in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in 2019, a 4-0 UMass victory in Manchester, New Hampshire.
 
Massachusetts will play its final league matchup of the 2023 calendar year in Burlington, Vermont on Friday, December 1, to wrap up its season series against the Catamounts.
 
On Friday and Saturday, December 8-9, UMass will host Alaska Anchorage for the first time. The two programs have not met since the Minutemen's inaugural Division I season in January 1994.
 
Coming off the holiday break, Massachusetts will begin the second half of its schedule in Lake Placid, New York, Friday and Saturday, December 29-30, at the inaugural Adirondack Winter Invitational. UMass will first face Cornell and then take on either Clarkson or Arizona State in the consolation/championship round.
 
The Minutemen will host Merrimack on Friday, January 12, before traveling to North Andover the following day for its second of three matchups against the Warriors on the year.
 
UMass then closes out January with a weekend slate against Northeastern on Friday and Saturday, January 19 and 20, beginning in Amherst and concluding in Boston.
 
Friday February 2, Massachusetts face Merrimack for a third time, traveling to North Andover for the matchup. On Saturday, February, 3, UMass will return home to host Maine at the Mullins Center.
 
The remainder of the month will feature three Hockey East home-and-home weekends, with the Minutemen facing UConn (Feb. 9-10), Boston College (Feb. 16-17) and New Hampshire (Feb. 23-24). The weekend against the Huskies will begin on the road, while the remaining two will open at the Mullins Center.
 
Massachusetts will travel to UMass Lowell on Friday, March 1, before hosting its final game of the regular season on Saturday, March 2, against the River Hawks.
 
UMass will close out the 2023-24 regular season slate with a trip to Maine on Friday and Saturday, March 8-9.
 
The 2023-24 Massachusetts hockey schedule is tentative and subject to change. The 17th home date for UMass, which will be its third regular season meeting with UConn, will be announced at a later date.
 
A reminder to all 2022-23 Massachusetts hockey season ticket holders, the renewal period for 2023-24 season tickets is now open. Season ticket packages start at $272 and include one ticket to each of the Minutemen's 17 regular season home games as well as a complementary ticket to a Hockey East playoff matchup, should UMass host.
