AMHERST, Mass. - Andrew Bell, Tommy Cotner, and Emma Petrovich are set to compete in the 2023 NCAA Zone A Diving Championships on Monday, March 6 and Tuesday, March 7 in Morgantown, W.Va. at West Virginia University.

2023 Atlantic 10 Championship Diving Recap
The Minutemen collected three medals in the dives at this year's Atlantic 10 Championship meet, highlighted by Tommy Cotner's gold medal in the 1-meter dive (314.60) and bronze medal in the 3-meter dive (311.80), Andrew Bell took fifth place in the 1-meter dive (297.65) and collected silver in the 3-meter dive (345.25). Bell also set a personal best 3-meter dive in the preliminary round with a score of 369.60. Emma Petrovich collected 11 points for the Minutewomen in the 1-meter dive (243.70), as well as one point in the 3-meter dive (218.45).

Atlantic 10's Bests
Tommy Cotner was named the Atlantic 10's Most Outstanding Male Diver at this year's Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships, while diving coach Sam Baluzy was titled Atlantic 10 Men's Diving Coach of the Year.

Returning To Zones
Emma Petrovich returns to zones for the second year in a row, having competed in last year's NCAA Zone A Diving Championships. She competed in the 1-meter dive, capturing 44th place with a score of 229.70. No Minuteman has been to zones since the 2016-17 season, making Bell and Cotner's trips the first in their careers. The last time three Massachusetts divers appeared at zones together was 2018, when Emma Roush, Katie Polk, and Maja Boric qualified.

What's At Stake
Bell, Cotner, and Petrovich are fighting for spots in this year's 2023 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships, with the women's meet being held in Knoxville, Tenn. at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center and the men's meet being held in Minneapolis, Minn. at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center. Bell and Petrovich will be competing in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, while Cotner will compete in the 1-meter dive. The top five divers from the women's 1-meter dives and men's 3-meter dives will head to NCAAs, while the top six divers in the women's 3-meter dives and men's 1-meter dives will qualify for the national meet.
