Massachusetts Men’s Basketball Adds Martin As Graduate Transfer

Brandon Martin spent last season at South Carolina following three years at USC Upstate.

AMHERST, Mass. University of Massachusetts men's basketball head coach Frank Martin announced the addition of graduate transfer Brandon Martin to the roster on Wednesday afternoon. The forward spent three seasons at USC Upstate prior to transferring to South Carolina to play for his father last season.
 
Martin has appeared in 88 games during his four-year collegiate career and appeared in 31 games a season ago at South Carolina, where he averaged just under 12 minutes per game. The forward recorded a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards against Allen and compiled eight points and six rebounds in a win over Army. Martin also played 57 career games at USC Upstate and scored a career-best 23 points on nine made field goals against VMI as a sophomore.
 
During his high school career, Martin earned all-state and all-region honors at Cardinal Newman School in Columbia, S.C., where he averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game before taking a post-grad year at St. Thomas More School in Connecticut.
