Tennis Concludes Regular Season Perfect In A-10 With 4-0 Victory Over Rhode Island

The Minutewomen earn seventh triumph in the A-10 and eighth on their home courts.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis concluded the regular season with a 4-0 win against the University of Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon at the Mullins Center Tennis Courts to keep a perfect record in the Atlantic 10. UMass also finished with an 8-0 record on its home courts.
The Minutewomen improve to 15-4 overall, while holding a 7-0 A-10 record, as the triumph also marks the team's sixth consecutive victory.
UMass notched the doubles point with wins at courts No. 2 and No. 3. Renata Farima and Anna Napadiy took down Rhode Island's Sydney Chratian and Erin Chratian, 6-1, at No. 2, before Dylan Cannon and Mariya Krasakova defeated Nadia Rajan and Paulina Loredo of Rhode Island, 6-1, on court No. 3. The match at No. 1 went unfinished with Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul ahead 5-1.
Hack grabbed the first singles point for Massachusetts with a 6-1, 6-0, victory at No. 3 over Rhode Island's Tiara Higuchi, while Farima followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Rajan of Rhode Island at court No. 1 to make it a 3-0 contest. Krasakova clinched the match for the Minutewomen after defeating Rhode Island's Loredo, 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
The match came to a halt before courts No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 finished.
Massachusetts will head to the A-10 Championships on Wednesday, April 27 through Sunday, May 1, in Lake Nona Florida, at the USTA National Campus. The Minutewomen will await their seeding in the tournament to find out who they face. The time of the match will be determined at a later date.
