Tennis Remains Perfect At Home With 6-1 Victory Over Siena

The Minutewomen earned their 10th win of the season.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis picked up its 10th victory of the season and improved to 5-0 at home, defeating Siena College, 6-1, at the Bay Road Indoor Tennis Center on Sunday afternoon.
UMass already played down 1-0 before the doubles match began, as the Minutewomen could not fill in the six singles spots due to injuries. Massachusetts and Siena competed with two doubles pairs at courts No. 1 and No. 2, where the point went to UMass. The pair of Danielle Hack and Thamonpan Jonglertrakul took down Siena's Meagan Brown and Laia Giralt, 6-0, at No. 1, before duo Dylan Cannon and Renata Farima picked up a 6-1 victory over Maanya Viswanath and Emma Boggiali of Siena at No. 2.
With the score tied at 1-1, Jonglertrakul got off to a quick start in singles competition, defeating Siena's Viswanath, 6-1, 6-1 on court No. 4. Farima grabbed her own point at No. 1, taking down Brown of Siena, 6-1, 6-1. Mariya Krasakova made it a 4-1 contest, with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Nanea Perkins of Siena at No. 3 singles. Hack finished 6-2, 6-0, over Siena's Giralt at No. 2, before Cannon clinched the match point, coming out on top, 6-0, 7-6 (0) at No. 6 over Anastasia Koniaev of Siena.
Massachusetts prepares for a home match against Quinnipiac on Wednesday, March 30, at 3 p.m. Weather will be the deciding factor for an outdoor match.
