Swimming And Diving Places Five On Podium, Takes Third In Relay On Final Day Of Terrier

Jamie Macdonald finished as the runner-up in the men’s 200 Fly while Caroline Mahoney took second in the women’s 100 Free.
BOSTON, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts swimming and diving team placed five individuals on the podium on the final day of competition at the Terrier Invitational on Sunday. The Minutemen also concluded the three-day meet with a third-place finish in the 400 Free Relay with a time of 3:01.95 set by Emerson Kiefer, Joe Tonna, Eric Eastham, and Sammy Quigg.
On The Podium
Caroline Mahoney finished as the runner-up in the 100 Free with a time of 50.88 to rank eighth-fastest all-time at UMass. Summer Pierce added another podium finish for the Minutewomen with a time of 2:04.55 to take third in the 200 Fly and lead four Minutewomen in the top-11 finishers.
Jamie Macdonald claimed the second-place spot in the 200 Fly with a time of 1:50.98 as part of three Minutemen to claim podium finishes on the final day. Eric Eastham took third in the 200 Back with a time of 1:48.86 while Sammy Quigg posted a swim of 45.48 in the 100 Free to finish third.
Top Finishes
Megan Mitchell added a fourth-place finish for the Minutewomen in the 200 Back with a time of 1:59.08.
Sam Haddad paced two Minutemen in the top-eight of the 200 Breast with a time of 2:02.46 to claim fifth-place while Jack Artis took eighth with a swim of 2:03.26. The Minutemen placed three in the top-12 of the 1650 Free, with Wilson Dubois leading the way in 10th with a time of 16:12.74 while Jake Bailey and Colby Vieira followed in 11th and 12th, respectively.
Team Results
The Minutemen finished in fourth in the team scoring with 951 points while the Minutewomen finished in fifth with 714.5.

UMass returns to the pool on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. for a meet at Bryant.
