Field Hockey's van Herwijnen Claims Rookie Of The Week Honor

Myrte van Herwijnen earned her first collegiate weekly award.
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Freshman Myrte van Herwijnen was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon. The accolade marks the first of her career.
van Herwijnen played 45 minutes in the cage against A-10 rival La Salle, tallying four saves on the day with six shots faced. The Huizen, The Netherlands, native allowed no goals in the 4-0 victory.
Massachusetts travels to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Friday, October 7, to take on A-10 foe No. 10 Saint Joseph's, before heading to New Haven, Connecticut, on Sunday, October 9 to face non-conference opponent Yale at 1 p.m.
