No. 20 Massachusetts Field Hockey Set To Finish Out Regular Season Against Lock Haven, Northeastern

The Minutewomen will face Lock Haven at 3 p.m. at home on Friday and will travel to Boston to take on Northeastern at 12 p.m. on Sunday.

AMHERST, Mass. - The No. 20 University of Massachusetts field hockey team heads into its final weekend of regular season play, kicking off with the Lock Haven Bald Eagles on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. at the Gladchuk Field Hockey Complex and completing regular season play on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m. at Dedham Field in Dedham, Mass. against the Northeastern Huskies.

Last Time Out
The Minutewomen eked out a win against the Richmond Spiders on Friday afternoon by a score of 2-1. Senior Bella Ianni and freshman Mia Smith notched the two goals of the game for the Minutewomen, while freshman Myrte van Herwijnen recorded five saves.

Scouting the Bald Eagles
Lock Haven currently has the same record as the Minutewomen, sitting at 12-4 on the season and 5-1 in Atlantic 10 play. Martina Spangenberg leads the team in goals (10), with Jazmin Palma following (8). Amy Stevens has a team-high five assists on the team, with Ellie Mead following closely behind with four. Palma has also registered 30 shots on goal so far this season. Goalkeeper Kelsey Felix has started in 14 games in the cage, recording 53 saves on 132 shots faced.

Scouting the Huskies
The Huskies are 4-12 on the season, going 3-2 in CAA conference play. Emmy Stubbs leads the team in goals with 10, while Mak Graves trails closely behind with nine. Sarah Coyle has notched seven assists this season, with Maria Armaganian having six. Emilia Adragna has registered 21 shots so far this season. Goalkeeper Jonna Kennedy has started in all sixteen games this season, making 94 saves on 233 shots faced.  

Next Up…
The Minutewomen will be hosting the Atlantic 10 Championship tournament, with the Quarterfinals occurring on November 3 (11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.) and the Championship game (12:00 p.m.) occurring on November 5. Seeding will be announced at a later date.
