Connors, Ianni Collect UMass Student-Athlete of the Week Accolades

The pair will be recognized at the UMass Sports Luncheon on Wednesday.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts ice hockey forward Kenny Connors and field hockey forward Bella Ianni were titled UMass Student-Athletes of the Week presented by UMassFive on Tuesday morning.

Connors (Glen Mills, Pennsylvania) had five points in a two-game sweep of Union for the Minutemen with two goals and three assists, all coming on the power play and was +2 with seven shots and three blocks. He also factored in all three UMass power-play goals on Friday, scoring two in the 7-1 victory, including the game winner and dishing an assist. He followed up with his second multi-point game of the weekend, dishing two assists on the power play in Saturday's 7-0 win.

Ianni (Vista, Calif.) recorded the game-winning goal in Friday's match against Richmond to lift the Minutewomen over the Spiders, 2-1. She recorded 4 shots in the game, all of which were on goal.
