Event will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 20

AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Massachusetts men's and women's basketball programs will play host to Mullins Madness at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 20 at the Mullins Center.

The event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 6 p.m. Concessions will also be available.

Mullins Madness will feature player and staff introductions, contests and giveaways as well as a DJ. In addition, a pair of $5,000 scholarships will be awarded to students randomly, who will become eligible upon swiping in with their UMass ID cards.

Additional Programming Notes

Student contests will include knockout and musical chairs with members of the men's and women's basketball teams
Each team will have a scrimmage
3-point shooting competition (MBB, WBB)
New Student section revealed (first 1,500 students to receive new student section T-shirt)
Massachusetts spirit squad performance
