Tennis Earns ITA National Academic Accolades

Seven individuals win Academic Scholar-Athlete awards; entire squad receives All-Academic Team status
AMHERST, Mass. -- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recognized seven members of the University of Massachusetts tennis program, as well as the team as a whole, with a pair of academic accolades. Jovana Bogicevic, Dylan Cannon, Danielle Hack, Mariya Krasakova, Sarah Mezini, Anna Napadiy and Helena Narmont each earned ITA Scholar-Athlete status for their work in the classroom while the squad won ITA All-Academic Team in recognition of their combined academic success.
The individual honorees marks the second straight season that at least seven Minutewomen have earned the accolade, and are the most for the squad since the 2006-07 squad. It also marks the 17th time the Minutewomen received the team award since the 1999-2000 season and the seventh consecutive year earning the squad recognition.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:
• Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year
• Be listed on the institutional eligibility form
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
• Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
• All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
• All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year
