Massachusetts Hockey Roster Update

April 09, 2021 | Hockey

AMHERST, Mass. – The University of Massachusetts announced on Friday that hockey student-athletes Henry GrahamCarson Gicewicz and Filip Lindberg are scheduled to travel to Pittsburgh on Friday in full compliance with Massachusetts' COVID-19 state testing and quarantine requirements.

Per NCAA COVID-19 testing standards, as Tier 1 personnel student-athletes must adhere to a continued cadence of testing three times weekly on non-consecutive days (antigen or PCR, confirmed negative), including a negative PCR within two days of arrival at the NCAA competition site. Also required for all student-athletes is testing upon arrival as well as quarantine until two consecutive tests are confirmed negative. Daily testing is then administered while participating on site. The two consecutive tests upon arrival must occur before any practice or competition.

Adhering to these NCAA standards, all three UMass student-athletes will remain isolated from the rest of UMass' Tier I personnel upon arrival in Pittsburgh. The trio will test immediately upon arrival and again on Saturday morning prior to re-joining the team for any pregame activities.

Massachusetts is back in the national championship game for the second straight NCAA tournament, which will be held on Saturday at 7 p.m. on ESPN.
