McTear Named To NFHCA Division I Senior Team

McTear was among 38 members to be recognized for the honor.
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – University of Massachusetts field hockey midfielder Georgie McTear has been selected to the 2021 National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I Senior Team, announced Monday by the NFHCA. McTear was one of 38 senior student-athletes to be recognized one of just three from the Atlantic 10 Conference.
The student-athletes represented all 10 Division I conferences and five NCAA regions, while the honorees were all nominated and chosen based on their career accomplishments. McTear is the 17th Minutewomen to receive the honor in the last 15 years.
The Portsmouth, England, native has played in 80 games with UMass, making 79 starts in her career. She led the team goals (six), assists (six) and points (18) in the 2021-22 season. The graduate student has been a three-time NFHCA Northeast All-Region Second Team selection (2017, 18, 19) and a NFHCA Northeast All-Region First Team member (2020-21). In addition, McTear has tabbed A-10 All-Conference Second Team in 2017 and 2018, and A-10 All-Conference First Team in the 2019, 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons.
