Women’s Cross Country Claims Sixth At New England Championships

Conant leads the way for the Minutewomen in 15th overall.

BOSTON – University of Massachusetts women's cross country claimed sixth out of 23 teams at the New England Championships in Franklin Park on Saturday. The Minutewomen posted a score of 173, while Boston College took home the team title with a score of 32.
 
Sarah Conant captured 15th overall in the 5K race, crossing the finish in 18 minutes 9.2 seconds. Lily Robinson followed close behind in 20th out of 155 runners with a time of 18 minutes, 17.1 seconds.
 
Eugenia Fairhurst clocked in at 18 minutes, 29.4 seconds, good for third on the team and 28th overall, while Colette O'Leary was 51st (18:56.0) and Grace Phair placed 61st (19:12.6) to round out the scoring for UMass.
 
The Minutewomen will be back in action on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
