Women's Cross Country Wins Maribel Sanchez Souther Memorial Invitational

HANOVER, N.H. – Sophomore Agnes Thundal led the field to help the University of Massachusetts women's cross country to victory in a four-school meet at the Maribel Sanchez Souther Memorial Invitational on Saturday. The Minutewomen posted a score of 27, placing their entire top-five in the top nine overall, competing against Dartmouth (41), Northeastern (65) and Vermont (101).
THE UMASS WOMEN'S TOP-FIVE
- Thundal won the 6K with a time of 21:42.50, taking first out of 67 runners.
- Junior Rylee Davis followed in second overall in 21:43.90.
- Graduate student Sydney Adams placed third on the team and seventh overall (22:03.70).
- Senior Annika Zuschlag claimed eighth with a time of 22:10.20.
- Junior Anna McElhinney rounded out the UMass scoring in ninth overall (22:13.70).
UP NEXT
The Minutewomen will return to action at the New England Championships at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H., on October 10. Races are slated to begin at 2:45 p.m.
