Award given out annually to top center in the nation

AMHERST, Mass. - University of Massachusetts football junior center Dalton Tomlison was selected to the Rimington Trophy Watch List on Wednesday, as announced by the Rimington Trophy Committee. The Rimington Trophy is awarded annually to the top center in college football.

Tomlison played in nine games last season and started six at center. After he opened the season as the backup, Tomlison took over starting responsibilities ahead of the game against Coastal Carolina on Sept. 21, 2019. He followed with five more starts at center against Akron (9/28), FIU (10/5), Louisiana Tech (10/12), UConn (10/26) and Liberty (11/2) before suffering a season-ending injury that forced him to miss the final three games.

Tomlison arrived at UMass as a junior college transfer prior to the 2019 season. He competed at Iowa Western in 2018 as the squad finished the year 10-1 overall. The Beaver, Ohio, native is a graduate of Eastern High School.
