Rodgers Selected To Paul Hornung Award Weekly Honor Roll

Football senior impacted team's 37-29 win on defense and special teams
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Massachusetts football senior cornerback and return specialist Isaiah Rodgers was one of four FBS student-athletes from across the country named to the Paul Hornung Award Honor Roll on Monday. Rodgers earned placement based upon his work in the secondary and the return game as Massachusetts defeated Akron, 37-29 on Saturday.
During the win over the Zips, Rodgers provided four tackles, returned an interception for a touchdown, fielded two punt returns for 10 yards and tallied a kickoff return for 17 yards gained.
Rodgers' pick-six, the third of his career, came in the second quarter and gave Massachusetts a 14-7 advantage the team would not relent the remainder of the way. The Tampa, Florida, native stepped in front of a Kato Nelson pass at the UMass 42 yard line and ran untouched 58 yards into the North endzone of McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
