Minutewomen Complete Day Two At The Yale Invitational

Tennis takes three of four doubles matches from Brown
NEW HAVEN, Conn. - University of Massachusetts tennis won three of four doubles matches and collected two more singles victories during the second day of competition at the Yale Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Minutewomen won at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 doubles over Brown. Janja Kovacevic and Martina Bocchi took a 6-4 match from Devon Jack and Courtney Kowalsky at No. 1 while Jodie Lawrence-Taylor and Anna Napadiy earned a 6-3 margin over Ryan and Ryan Peus at No. 2. Shiran Arol Wiegand and Jovana Bogicevic also took a 6-3 match at No. 4 doubles, doing so against Peri Sheinin and Guang.Â
Massachusetts won two singles matches over Dartmouth. Arol Wiegand fought back for a 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4) tie-breaker win at No. 5 singles while Ashley Avery secured a three-set triumph against Jingyi Peng 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4.Â
The Minutewomen conclude their play at the Yale Invitational with singles against Denver (9:30 a.m.) and doubles versus Dartmouth (12:30 p.m.).
