Women’s Soccer Adds Transfer Jouvenel From Georgia State

The defender started 19 games for the Panthers as a freshman in 2018.
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's soccer has added a transfer from Georgia State, defender Ava Jouvenel, to its group of newcomers for 2019, head coach Jason Dowiak announced on Thursday. Jouvenel, a native of Montferrier sur Lez, France, joins the Minutewomen with three seasons of eligibility remaining.
"In our recruitment of Ava, our staff felt she would be a very good fit for our style of play and add competitive depth to our center back position," said Dowiak. "A week into preseason now and we are even more excited about her for how she is performing and the creativity she adds to our squad."
Jouvenel started 19 games at Georgia State last season, playing over 1,7000 minutes for the Panthers and logging an assist. She is a graduate of Lycee Saint Exupery High School in Blagnac, France where she played center back and defensive midfielder under head coach Christophe Capian. Jouvenel played club soccer for MHSC under Maxime Di Liberto and was a France Excellence Champion in both 2017 and 2018.
