Gridiron Club Golf Classic Set For July 29

Individual and group registration for event at Pinehills Golf Club continues through July 15
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts Athletics will host the annual Football Gridiron Club Golf Classic at Pinehills Golf Club in Plymouth, Massachusetts, on Mon., July 29. The event begins with registration at 9:30 a.m., followed by boxed lunches and the shotgun-scramble start at 11 a.m. A cocktail hour begins at 4 p.m. and dinner, awards and a live auction will follow at 5 p.m.
During dinner, Massachusetts football will pay tribute to former Minuteman captain Kevin Sullivan, who passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2019. Sullivan, a three-year member of the team from 1977-79, helped the program reach the 1978 NCAA Division I-AA Championship Game and cemented a 44-21 semifinal victory over Nevada with a 59-yard interception return for a touchdown. Sullivan's 14 career interceptions and 201 interception return yards remain in the top 10 in program history.

Individual golfers can register for $275, which includes a $100 tax-deductible contribution, greens fee, cart, range balls, lunch, dinner and a tournament gift. A foursome can register as a group for $1,100, which includes a $400 tax-deductible contribution, greens fee, two carts, range balls, lunch, dinner and four tournament gifts.
Recent University of Massachusetts graduates (2015-19) receive a discounted participation cost of $175, while those interested in attending dinner only can do so for $75.
