Cuthbert Takes Fourth In The 200 Meter At The Northeast Challenge

Junior Michael Cuthbert clocked a time of 21.80 in the 200 meter dash to take fourth.
STORRS, Conn. – Junior Michael Cuthbert clocked a time of 21.80 in the 200-Meter Dash to finish fourth with four points as the University of Massachusetts men's track and field team wrapped up competition at the Northeast Challenge on Saturday.

Cuthbert led the way for a pair of top-10 UMass finishers in the 200-Meter as Jordan Howard rounded out the top-10 with a time of 22.04. Howard paced the Minutemen in the 100-Meter with a time of 10.85 to finish eighth while Cuthbert took 11th with a time of 11.96 with Hayden Gray finishing 14th.

Jake DeGrace added a top-10 finish in the 110-Meter Hurdles, clocking in a time of 14.86 to take seventh while Brian Gendron recorded a time of 1:54.16 to finish 10th in the 800-Meter.

The UMass 4x100-Meter Relay team of Gray, Cuthbert, Ricky Arias and Howard took sixth with a time of 41.75.

In the field events, Nathan Adeyemi posted a sixth-place finish in the triple jump with a mark of 47 feet, 8.00 inches while Myles McDermott added a sixth-place finish of his own in the long jump with a jump of 22 feet, 7.25 inches to pick up two points.

Joseph SanGiacomo recorded a throw of 172-09 in the javelin to finishing inside the top-10 in ninth.

The Minutemen are back in action on Friday as they begin the two-day Virginia Challenge in Charlottsville, Virginia
