McTear Named NFHCA Northeast All-Region Second Team

Junior midfielder collects postseason laurels for third straight year
GILBERT, Ariz. – University of Massachusetts junior midfielder Georgie McTear has been named to the Longstreth/NFHCA Northeast All-Region Second Team, announced Monday afternoon by the organization. It marks the third straight year that McTear has earned NFHCA postseason accolades.
The Atlantic 10 All-Conference Second Team pick started 19 of 20 games last season, averaging 50-plus minutes per game. McTear tallied 12 points on four goals and four assists, in part serving as a striker on attack penalty corners. She recorded a six-game point streak from Sept. 6-27, a stretch that included three nationally-ranked opponents.
McTear helped the Minutewomen win their final five Atlantic 10 Conference games to earn the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament. She was previously named to the NFHCA All-Region Second Team both in 2017 and 2018, while taking home A-10 All-Conference First Team (2019), Second Team (2017, 2018) and All-Rookie Team (2017) honors.
