Tennis Splits Second Day Of Big Green Invite Between Dartmouth, Yale

Minutewomen claim victory in five matches
HANOVER, N.H. - University of Massachusetts tennis took home five match victories during the second day of the Big Green Invitational on Saturday, during which the Minutewomen battled Dartmouth and Yale. The Minutewomen collected four wins in doubles - two each over the Big Green and Bulldogs - as well as one more triumph in singles.
The No. 1 and No. 2 doubles pairings won over Yale when senior Janja Kovacevic and freshman Shiran Arol Wiegand took home the victory at No. 1 and junior Anna Napadiy and senior Martina Bocchi achieved success at No. 2. Kovacevic and Arol Wiegand combined and overwhelmed Chelsea Kung and Rena Lin, 6-2, while Napadiy and Bocchi downed Rhea Shrivastava and Raissa Lou, 6-3. Arol Wiegand also secured the team's win in singles action by a 6-3, 6-4 margin over Yale's Lauren Gillinov at No. 5.
Kovacevic and Napadiy teamed up at No. 1 while Ashley Avery and Jovana Bogicevic combined forces at No. 2 during the team's second set of doubles matches on the day as both pairings won. Kovacevic and Napadiy bettered Dartmouth's Ashley Hess and Nicole Conard, 6-2, as Avery and Bogicevic earned a 6-4 triumph over Jennifer Gadalov and Nina Paripovic.
