Last Time Out
The Minutemen opened up their 2019-20 campaign with a 225-61 win over Colgate on the road last weekend inside the Lineberry Natatorium. UMass had five athletes record multiple individual event wins, including a pair of freshmen in Emerson Kiefer (500 Free, 1,650 Free) and Jamie MacDonald (400 IM, 200 Fly). Luther Gordon swept the breaststroke events as UMass claimed the top-three spots in both the 100 and 200, while Dias Konysbayev and diver Noah Kanner each added a pair of wins.

Freshmen Flair
The UMass freshmen came through in their first collegiate meet, picking up a combined five wins among the newcomers on Saturday at Colgate. In addition to a pair of wins from Kiefer and MacDonald, Charles Rothenberger picked up a win in the 200 Free and added runner-up showings in both the 50 and 100 Free. Noah Witt also picked up a runner-up finish in the 200 Back as UMass claimed the top-three spots.

Looking Ahead
After hitting the road this weekend for a pair of competitions away from home, UMass returns to the Joseph R. Rogers, Jr. pool in two weeks as they host NJIT on Saturday, Oct. 26 in the first home meet of the 2019-20 season at 11 a.m. The Minutemen will remain at home the following weekend when Boston University comes to Amherst before heading off to BU's facility in Boston for the Terrier Invitational on Nov. 22-24.
