Host Of PRs Set By Men’s Track & Field At John Thomas Terrier Classic

Michael Cuthbert posts the fastest 200m time by a Minuteman since 1999.
BOSTON – Saturday's trip to the John Thomas Terrier Classic saw a host of Minutemen set personal records as University of Massachusetts men's track and field was in action at the Boston University Track & Tennis Center. Junior Michael Cuthbert's performance in the 200m dash led the way as he posted the third fastest time in program history and fastest since 1999.
Cuthbert ran 21.74 seconds to fifth in the 200 in a field of 137 runners. Jordan Howard (22.51, 47th), Hayden Gray (22.68, 55th) and Lucas Honohan (22.73, 60th) all set PRs in the event, as well.
Sophomore Colin Stoddard posted a time of 1 minute, 5.61 seconds in 500 meter dash, good for eighth and a new personal best. Brian Gendron placed 11th in the 1,000 meter run out of 58 competitors, clocking in at 2 minutes, 27.15 seconds. Jonathan Collins was seventh in 60 meter hurdles at 8.88 seconds.
In the 3,000 meter run, both senior Michael Famiglietti and junior Eric Waterman posted personal bests with times of 8 minutes, 29.38 seconds (29th) and 8 minutes, 36.59 seconds (46th), respectively. Junior Dawson Bathgate ran a PR, as well, crossing the finish in 15 minutes, 5.96 seconds to place 30th in the 5,000 meter run.
In the field events, sophomore Coston O'Brien set a personal record in weight throw, claiming seventh with a toss of 51 feet, 6.25 inches. Mason Lord was ninth in pole vault after clearing 14 feet, 3.25 inches.
Next up for the Minutemen are the New England Championships beginning on Friday, Feb. 1, at 10 a.m. in Boston, Massachusetts at the Reggie Lewis Center.
