Last Time Out
Jenny Hipp notched a pair of goals and three assists as UMass closed out its non-conference slate with a 6-1 win at Rudd Field over Eastern Michigan last Sunday. Though the goal was the first allowed by the Minutewomen in 342 minutes of play, UMass continued its hot scoring with its fourth game of the year to notch three-or-more goals. Peyton Ryan made four saves to earn the win in goal.
Sweep Of Weekly Awards
Following the win over Eastern Michigan, three Minutewomen earned A-10 Women's Soccer Weekly Awards. Jenny Hipp was named the Offensive Player of the Week, Lauren Bonavita was named the league Rookie of the Week and Peyton Ryan was named the Co-Defensive Player of the Week. Hipp was also named the New England Soccer Journal Player of the Week, while Bonavita was the magazine's Rookie of the Week.
Leading The A-10
Through seven matches, UMass leads the Atlantic 10 in several categories including scoring offense (3.43 goals/game), total goals (24), total points (77) and total assists (29). Defensively, UMass leads the league in goals-against-average (0.571) and is third in save percentage (0.846). Nationally, UMass is third in scoring offense, third in points and leads the nation in assists per game.
Next Up
UMass will have another split weekend of league play next week when the Minutewomen host St. Bonaventure on Thursday, Sept. 27 (4 PM) before heading to La Salle on Sunday, Sept. 30 (1 PM).
