March 01, 2018 | Rowing
All UMass rowing alumnae are invited for April 29 festivities
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts rowing will host the program's third annual Alumnae Day at the UMass Boathouse on Sun., April 29. Head coach Jim Dietz is looking forward to getting everyone back on the water and invites all UMass rowing alumnae to visit and spend time reconnecting with former teammates.
Alumnae and their families are encouraged to RSVP by clicking here and indicate their plans to attend, guest numbers and intent to participate in the morning row.
Â
The schedule for the day includes an optional morning row before a casual alumnae gathering at the Dietz residence around noon. The event will then return to the boathouse where lunch will be provided and three honored guest speakers will share their experience at UMass with current members of the Minutewomen rowing team.
Â
Following the speakers, an engaging alumnae networking event will be held outside (weather pending) followed by a special Boat Christening ceremony at 3:30 p.m. The Vespoli 4 will be named after former UMass rower Emily Boucher (now Emily Paine), who graduated in 2012 and competed in the 2010 and 2011 World Rowing Under 23 Championships. She rowed all four years at UMass and was an Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honoree in 2012.
