• Fresh off a 69-62 win over Quinnipiac on Wednesday, the Minutemen remain home for their seventh home game of the year for an in-state matchup against Holy Cross on Tuesday in the Mullins Center at 7 PM.
• The game will be televised on ELEVEN SPORTS and NESNPLUS with Tim Neverett (play-by-play) and Frank Sullivan (analyst) calling the action. ELEVEN is available to 55 million homes in HD on nationwide cable systems such as DIRECTV (channel 623), AT&T U-verse (1665), Verizon Fios (597), RCN (571), Atlantic Broadband (501), Hawaiian Telcom (1091), and Google Fiber (251). In addition, it is carried on Sony PlayStation Vue and Fubo.tv.
• As part of the Atlantic 10 package, the game will also be streamed online via ESPN+ which is available on mobile, desktop and OTT devices such as Apple TV and Roku. ESPN+ is a subscription service ($4.99 month/49.99 annually) which is the official home for all Atlantic 10 events plus many others.
• On the radio airwaves, the game will be broadcast on the UMass Sports Network anchored by flagship station 105.5 FM WEEI and online via the TuneIn App. New Voice of the Minutemen Jay Burnham will be joined courtside by Adam Frenier.
• This marks the 59th meeting between the Minutemen and the Crusaders dating back to 1908 with Holy Cross leading the all-time series 36-22 after a 64-50 UMass win last season in the Mullins Center. In the win, UMass had four in double-figures led by Luwane Pipkins' 13 while holding Holy Cross to 36-percent from the field on the game and 25-percent in the second half.
• The Minutemen strung together a 13-3 run and held the Bobcats to 1-of-10 shooting to end the second half in a 69-62 win over Quinnipiac the last time out to pick up their fourth win in the Mullins Center this season. UMass led by as many as 21 points halfway through the second half before holding off a late Quinnipiac push. Pipkins led all scorers with a game-high 20 points while Rashaan Holloway tied his career-high in rebounds with 13.
• UMass is led again this season by Pipkins who is the top returning scorer in the Atlantic 10 after notching 21.2 points per game last year. He was named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason First Team after a breakout sophomore campaign. He is one of just six players in program history to average over 21 points a game in a single-season joining the likes of Julius Erving and Marcus Camby. He also became the 51st player in program history to eclipse 1,000 points for his career.
• With 1,172 points, Pipkins now ranks among the top-30 all-time in career points after passing Rafer Giles (31st, 1987-91; 1,163 pts) and Chris Lowe (30th, 2005-09; 1,152). If Pipkins maintains his current scoring average, he could finish amount UMass' top-10 all-time scorers as a junior as he currently trails John Murphy (29th, 1972-73; 1,184 pts) and Carmelo Travieso (28th, 1993-97; 1,186 pts).
• In the early goings of the season, UMass has the best scoring average (81.6 pts) in the Atlantic 10 and ranks second in field goal percentage (47.7). Defensively, UMass ranks 10th in the league giving up 73.3 points per night.
• Individually, Rashaan Holloway leads the A-10 in field goal percentage (71.4) and ranks eighth in rebounds per game (7.) while Jonathan Laurent ranks seventh in shooting percentage with a 55.6% clip from the field. Pipkins leads the league in assists per game (6.4) while ranking third in scoring (19.6), 18th in rebounds (5.6) and 12th in 3-point field goal percentage (41.3).
• For the season, four Minutemen are averaging double figures led by Pipkins' 19.6 per night. Carl Pierre (11.3) ranks second on the team in scoring while Curtis Cobb (10.9) and Jonathan Laurent (10.6) all average over 10 points per contest. Holloway leads the squad in rebounds (7.0) while Pipkins leads in assists (6.4).
