Tennis Picks Up 6-0 Win at Rhode Island

Minutewomen stay unbeaten in Atlantic 10 play heading into Sunday's regular-season finale.
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - In its final road match of the regular season, the UMass tennis team stayed unbeaten in Atlantic 10 play this year with a 6-0 win over Rhode Island at the North Dartmouth Tennis Center on Saturday afternoon. The match was comprised of just singles play and no doubles matches.
The Minutewomen won each of the six singles matches in straight sets improving to 8-7 overall and 3-0 against league foes. UMass will close out the regular-season on Sunday afternoon (1 p.m.) against Fordham at the Mullins Center Tennis Courts. The match will be Senior Day with the tennis program honoring its trio of seniors: Brittany Collens, Julia Larson and Anna Woosley. It will also mark the final home match of head coach Judy Dixon as she retires following the conclusion of the 2017 postseason play.
In Saturday's action, Woosley picked up her 61st career singles win moving into sixth all-time in program history just behind Candynce Boney who is fifth with 62 victories. Junior Ana Yrazusta also moved into the program's top-10 with a victory at No. 3 singles. She now ranks 10th with 56 victories.
Collens extended her team-best win total this season to 18 after a 6-1, 6-4 victory at No. 6 singles.
