Minutewomen next head to South Carolina for trio of Spring Break matches.
HANOVER, N.H. - No. 23 Dartmouth proved too much for the UMass tennis team as the Big Green picked up a 7-0 win over the Minutewomen on Saturday afternoon at the Boss Tennis Center. The match was the second of eight straight road matches for the Maroon and White which next heads to South Carolina next week for a trio of matches over Spring Break.
Dartmouth improved to 9-1 overall with the win, while UMass fell to 5-5 overall.
The Big Green earned the opening doubles point on the day including a tightly contested 7-6 win at the No. 3 match.
Wins at No. 1, No. 5 and No. 6 singles sealed the team win for Dartmouth. At No. 3 and No. 5 singles, both Ana Yrazusta and Anna Woosley had matches with tie-breaker sets. Yrazusta fell 7-6 in her opening set before falling 6-3 in the second set. Woosley fell 6-3 in the first set before a back-and-forth second set saw her eventually fall 7-5.
The Minutewomen will be off for 10 days before next taking on the College of Charleston on March 14 in Charleston, S.C. UMass will then play Samford on March 16 and Atlantic 10 foe Davidson on March 17.
