Isabella Wins NEFWA Gold Helmet Award

Junior wide receiver posted eight catches, 152 receiving yards and three touchdowns against Maine

BRIGHTON, Mass. - University of Massachusetts football junior wide receiver Andy Isabella won weekly recognition from the New England Football Writers Association (NEFWA) with the Gold Helmet Award on Wednesday. Isabella secured the laurel with eight catches for 152 receiving yards and three touchdowns during the team's 44-31 victory over Maine at Fenway Park on Sat., Nov. 11.

Isabella, a 5-foot-10, 195-point pass-catcher from Mayfield, Ohio, had a pair of scores in the first quarter and put the Minutemen up for good with his third touchdown of the game. He set a career high with his three touchdowns, tied his personal bests for receptions and longest catch (69 yards) and put up his second-most receiving yards as a Minuteman during the win over the Black Bears.

Isabella is the third Minutemen to win a Gold Helmet Award this season, following Bryton Barr (9/28) and Logan Laurent (10/31).
