MacLean Tabbed USTFCCCA National Athlete Of The Week

The redshirt senior picked up her second win of the season on Saturday, claiming the individual New England title.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's cross country redshirt senior Heather MacLean has been tabbed the Division I women's national Athlete of the Week by the USTFCCCA, it was announced on Monday. MacLean earns the honor for the second time in her career after capturing the New England individual championship this past Saturday.
 
The Peabody, Massachusetts, native dominated the field of 194 runners at the New England Championships at Franklin Park, finishing nearly 20 seconds ahead of second-place Ashbrook Gwinn of Boston College in the 5K race. Her performance helped the Minutewomen to a fifth-place team finish out of 28 schools (191 points).
