Rowing Finishes Competition at Head of Housatonic

Seven boats compete in Saturday's regatta
Head of the Housatonic Results
DERBY, Connecticut - University of Massachusetts rowing finished its Saturday outing at the Head of the Housatonic taking place on the Housatonic River with seven boats competing throughout the day-long regatta.Â
Head coach Jim Dietz started the morning with participation in the Veteran Men's 1x, where he placed third with an adjusted time of 16:22.5.Â
The Maroon and White placed three boats into the 1x Open Women race. Grace Bundy was the top finisher for UMass in the 1x, as she took 10th in 19:01.2. Natalie Boisvert (12th; 19:19.8) and Emily Mann (13th; 19:30.0) also competed in the event.
Massachusetts also had three crews participating in the Women's 8+ event. Against strong competition, the first boat finished in 11th place with a time of 14:51.4, which placed them ahead of twenty-two other participants. Two additional Maroon and White entries crossed in 25th (15:55.1) and 29th (16:24.1).
The Minutewomen finished out the Head of the Housatonic in the 2- Open with an eighth place mark of 18:14.0.
