Halpin Named To United States U19 National Team

LANCASTER, Pa. - University of Massachusetts field hockey incoming-freshman Alex Halpin was one of only three goalkeepers chosen for the United States U19 National Team, as announced by USA Field Hockey Wednesday. Halpin made the team following her participation in the U.S. U19 Junior National Camp from June 30 - July 3.
Halpin previously competed in the United States Olympic Development Program (ODP) as part of Futures Elite as early as 2012 and won silver at the 2013 USA Futures Junior Olympics. She also backstopped her high school team, Lakeland, to a pair of undefeated seasons in 2013-14.
Head coach Carla Tagliente and the Minutewomen begin the 2015 season with a neutral-site contest against New Hampshire in Boston, Massachusetts, Saturday, Aug. 29 at 6 p.m.
