Meet the Minutemen - Antwan Space

Antwan Space first met Trey Davis heading into seventh grade when a mutual friend set up a game of one-on-one between the duo in their hometown of DeSoto, Texas. This year, the two former middle school teammates will be reunited on the basketball court in Amherst when Space joins the University of Massachusetts men's basketball program as a graduate student transfer from Texas A&M.
"I've always kept up with UMass basketball since he's been here," Space said. "I kind of just had a long talk with Trey as I decided to leave A&M and he thought it would be a great fit for me."
Space, who began his college career at Florida State, started 24 games over two seasons at Texas A&M. He's looking to help the Minutemen fill the void left by starting post players Cady Lalanne and Maxie Esho - the Minutemen's two leading scorers and rebounders in 2014-15.
"I wanted to go somewhere where - not only could we win - but I could be a part of it. I could be a huge part of it and here I can do that."
