About The Spiders
- The Spiders come to Amherst with a 21-17 record and are tied for first in the Atlantic 10 with Rhode Island with a 10-5 conference mark.
- The Spiders rank fifth in the A-10 in team batting average, posting a .284 mark through their first 41 games. Richmond ranks first in the conference in home runs with 41 and is second in RBI with 247.
- Right-hander Ryan Cook leads an impressive pitching staff with a 6-2 record and has posted a 2.77 ERA in 10 appearances, all of which have been starts. In 61.2 innings, the senior has struck out 55 batters and walked just 16.
- Kyle Adamspaces the Richmond offense in batting average, sitting at .383 entering May. Adams is one of four Spiders to have an average over .300 and leads Michael Morman, the next highest Richmond batter, by 33 points. Adams was named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on March 30 following a four-game stretch that saw him hit .562 with six RBI.
- Matt Daceyis first in the Atlantic 10 in home runs, blasting 12 so far in 2015. Dacey comes into the UMass series with a .301 average, 32 RBI and a .677 slugging percentage.
- Jansen Fraser and Mormon have each been named Atlantic 10 Players of the Week this season. Mormon was recognized on March 23 after he hit .500 with two home runs and nine RBI in five games. Fraser was given the honor on April 6, when he hit .615 with thee home runs in the week.

Minutemen In the Atlantic 10
- With nine games remaining in its Atlantic 10 schedule, UMass sits just outside the top seven in the conference standings, currently tied for ninth with George Mason at 7-8, but only three games out of first place (with three games in-hand on third-place George Washington and fourth-place Davidson).
- Redshirt senior Kyle Adie ranks among the top-15 in the A-10 in batting average overall and is hitting a blistering .417 in conference play (25-for-60) over 15 games.
- In A-10 play, junior Brandon Walsh is 1-1 with one save and ranks eighth in ERA at 2.04 over 17.2 innings and four appearances. As a starter vs. conference foes, he has allowed just two runs over 15 innings for a 1.20 ERA with 14 strikeouts.

Cassidy Tosses Gem At CCSU
- Redshirt junior Tim Cassidy picked up his first career win in grand fashion on April 21at Central Connecticut as the righthander hurled a four-hit, complete game shutout against the Blue Devils, striking out three and walking just one.
- It marked the first time a Minuteman tossed a complete game shutout since current Senior Andrew Grant blanked Rhode Island, 2-0, on Apr. 6, 2013.
- This past Wednesday, despite taking a loss, Cassidy threw eight strong innings against Quinnipiac, allowing just three runs on six hits, with one walk and a career-high six strikeouts.

Holding Steady
- When it's able to gain the lead, UMass has been extremely successful holding on down the stretch this season. The Minutemen are 8-2 this season leading after six, 9-2 leading after seven and 10-1 leading after eight. In one-run games, UMass is 5-4 on the year.

Adie Enjoying A Career Year At The Plate
- Redshirt senior Kyle Adie currently leads UMass with a .344 (44-for-128) batting average with six doubles and two triples.
- Adie has reached base in 30of 33 games on the season, recently capping off a streak of reaching base in 11, straight and has hit safely in 27 of 33. In addtion to leading the team in average, Adie has 11 multi-hit games on the year, a squad best, and holds a team-high .422 slugging percentage.

Sweet Relief
- Sophomore Mike Geannelis has made four pitching appearances thus far this season and holds a 1.80 earned run average over 10.0 innings. In three outings as a reliever, he has not allowed a run over five innings with one walk, seven strikeouts and an opponents' batting average of .167. He earned his first career save at Siena on April 7 and picked up his second on April 13 vs. Harvard in the Beanpot First Round game.
- Junior Ben Panunzio is tied for the team lead in appearances this season with 11 and has allowed just three earned runs over 17.0innings for an ERA of 1.59. He has a 1-1 record and 11 strikeouts to six walks.

- The Minutemen willhost its final home Atlantic 10 series of the 2015 season when Rhode Island visits UMass for the first time since 2009 next Friday, May 8-Sunday, May 10.The first game of the three-game set at is slated for 3 p.m. on Earl Lorden Field on May 8.
