UMass, Boston College, Dartmouth, MIT, Rhode Island and Vermont made up the 14-boat field of competition.
The Boston College A boat finished first in 17:12.7, while Dartmouth A trailed close behind with a time of 17:27.5 for second. Dartmouth B also picked up the third place spot in 17:44.1.
The UMass A boat, made up of Suzanna Yeung (cox), Allison Russell, Kelly Graf, Hannah White, Lauren Jubb, Caroline Garvey, Jillian Ghio, Valenka Kosick and Olivia Monroe fell just short to A-10 rival URI in the middle of the pack.
