Kravchenko Selected as Hockey East Player of the Week
October 19, 2015 | Hockey
AMHERST, Mass. - Massachusetts sophomore Dennis Kravchenko has been named the Hockey East Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday. The honor is Kravchenko’s first of the season and second of his career as he was named the Hockey East Rookie of the Week once as a freshman in 2014-15.
Last Friday, Kravchenko helped the Minutemen to a 5-2 win in their home opener as he netted a hat trick and contributed an assist for his second four-point effort of the season. The hat trick was the first of his career, while his four points tied a career single game high, recently set in the season opener at Colorado College.
The Laguna, Niguel, Calif., currently leads the nation in scoring with eight points on four goals and four assists. UMass, currently 3-0-0 on the year, will be back in action next Friday, Oct. 23, when the squad will open up Hockey East play at home vs. New Hampshire in the Mullins Center at 7 p.m.
