2015 UMass Softball Schedule

AMHERST, Mass. - Massachusetts softball coach Kristi Stefanoni announced a 2015 schedule that is highlighted by 17 home games and an expanded Atlantic 10 Conference schedule.

The 51-game schedule includes 10 contests against teams that participated in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

"Our 2015 Schedule has us competing against some of the best teams and conferences across the country," Stefanoni said. "Playing on the road the first part of the season battle tests us for our highly competitive Atlantic 10 Conference as well as building our strength of schedule. We are excited about the 2015 schedule knowing that this is the first step in the journey to bring UMass Softball back to national prominence."

UMass' early-season road tournament schedule includes events hosted by Houston Feb. 13-15, College of Charleston Feb. 20-22, Louisville March 6-8 and South Florida March 13-15.

The A-10 softball schedule will be 22 games this season with head-to-head series expanding from two to three games for all opponents, except each rival which will remain at two games.

UMass will play home series against Fordham, George Washington, Saint Louis and St. Bonaventure, along with road matchups with Dayton, George Mason, Rhode Island (2 games) and Saint Joseph's. The Minutewomen will not play Davidson or La Salle in 2015.

Additional non-conference games include single-game home-and-home series with Connecticut, doubleheaders in Amherst against Marist, on the road at Boston University, and single games at Harvard and at home with Boston College and Yale.

The 2015 Atlantic 10 Softball Championship will be hosted by UMass at Sortino Field, May 6-9. The top six teams based on league winning percentage will converge on Western Mass. for the tenth time in A-10 history.

UMass welcomes back 17 letterwinners, eight starters and four pitchers from last year's squad which won 22 games, went 9-6-1 in conference play and qualified for the A-10 Tourney. The Minutewomen also went 9-1-1 at home a year ago.
