Minutewomen Compete At Paul Short Invite

Results BETHLEHEM, Pa. - At 11:45 on Saturday, October 4, the UMass women toed up to the line at the Paul Short Invitational in rainy Bethlehem, Pa. The Minutewomen faced off against a tough crowd consisting of 38 teams, including Cornell, Georgetown, and Yale. After the muddy 6K race on Lehigh's grassy Murray H. Goodman campus, the UMass women took home 28th place with 667 points. The University of Guelph took home the win, finishing with an impressive 48 points. Georgetown grabbed second with 127 points. FSU (145), Yale (202) and Cornell (230) complete the top five places.
For the third race in a row, Rachel Hilliard crossed the line as UMass' top finisher. She finished the 6K in 21 minutes, 11 seconds in 51st place out of 325 runners. Carly Zinner took second for the team, finishing in 21:50 for 112th place. Alexandra Purdue-Smithe crossed the line 130th with a time of 22:01. Deirdre Martyn in 172nd (22:21) and Christine Davis in 202nd (22:39) complete the team's top five finishers.
Next up is the New England Championship. On Oct. 11 the Minutewomen will travel to Franklin Park in Boston Mass. Start time is scheduled for 12:00 PM.
