Frohnapfel Named MAC East Offensive Player Of The Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio - University of Massachusetts football quarterback Blake Frohnapfel was selected as the Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 27. Frohnapfel threw for 438 yards and five touchdowns during UMass' narrow loss at Toledo, 42-35.

Frohnapfel's five touchdowns ties the school record for most thrown in a single game, a mark he also equaled against Bowling Green on Sept. 27. His 438 yards passing are the third-most earned a one contest in school history.

After Toledo took the lead following halftime, Frohnapfel engineered a pair of fourth quarter touchdown drives to tie the game twice giving the Minutemen a chance until the Rockets scored with 34 seconds remaining.

Frohnapfel now has 2,921 passing yards for the season which, ranks second in the NCAA, while his 23 touchdowns passes stands sixth nationally.
