Men's Track Holding Onto Third At New England's

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Following two days of competition, the UMass men's track and field team sits third in a field of 24 squads at the New England Championships. Ken O'Brien's team has managed to amass 20 points thus far, and will look to add to that total in Saturday's conclusion of the meet, beginning at 10 a.m.
The speedy Quinn Ryder will compete in Saturday's 100 meter dash finals after running a 10.89 in the prelims on Friday. The sophomore placed seventh, while holding a career-best time of 10.81 in the event. Ryder also qualified for the finals in the 200 meter dash, by setting a personal record time of 21.96 on Friday. The readout is a mere 0.46 from reaching the Massachusetts record book.
Another Minuteman who qualified for the final day of action in Cambridge, Mass. was Evan Donadt in the 400 meter hurdles. The senior clocked in at 53.77 while placing third in the preliminaries.
Running strong in the 5000 meter run at MIT was Patrick McGowan and Jared Reddy. The former of the two set a career-best time of 14:44.35 while notching a fifth place finish. The latter of the second-year duo crossed the line at 14:48.28 and took home eighth.
The Minutemen conclude action at the New England Meet on Saturday starting at 10 a.m. in Cambridge, Mass.
