UMass football head coach Charley Molnar updates fans on the first week of spring practice. The Minutemen continue to install new packages on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. Coach Molnar also speaks about which players he thinks have started well in camp.
The Minutemen went through three practices in the first week - two in shorts and helmets and the third in full pads.
In addition to the on-the-field practices, the week also was comprised of team lifts and community service projects.
On Friday, several members attended the Maurice A. Donahue Elementary School for an essay contest, while others visited the Shriners Children's Hospital in Springfield.
On Sunday, Coach Molnar and the football team participated in the Autism Speaks 5K Charity Race in Amherst.
