Novice Rowers Finish Third Overall At The Green Monster

HANOVER, N.H. - The UMass novice rowers competed at the Green Monster Regatta on Saturday against boats from Dartmouth, Radcliffe, Boston College, Vermont, and MIT. Three UMass boats were entered into the novice eight race.
The UMass A boat and the UMass B boat took sixth and seventh place overall. Traditionally, the competing teams make even A and B boats and combine the times to determine team places. UMass finished in third with a time of 36:46, just seven seconds away from Dartmouth.
The UMass A boat finished with a time of 18:17 and was coxed by Maddie Bushey. The UMass B boat finished with a time of 18:28 and was coxed by Caroline Severo. The C boat finished in 14th with a time of 20:43 and was coxed by Melody Banasiak.
Next weekend the team will head to Boston, Mass. for the Foot of the Charles, their last regatta of the fall season.
