AMHERST, Mass. - Men's swimming senior Peter Sacco has been keeping a blog documenting the men's season. The journalism major from Rochester, Mass. has made six entries to the UMassaquatics.com blog, with his latest entry previewing the next few weeks for the Minutemen.

The following is an excerpt from Sacco's most recent entry. To read the entire blog CLICK HERE

Hopefully the boys enjoyed Thanksgiving and their time away from Boyden, because these next three weeks promise to be rough. Russ set the tone today at practice, hustling (and in the case of Erik Phofl, pushing) everybody into the pool. I think he had shouted three speeches at us by the time we finished warm up.

Russ tells us that the next three weeks can make or break our season, and frankly I agree. With finals and Christmas break fast approaching, it's difficult to not make excuses and stay focused on training. Russ followed up the intensity of practice with an official locker room meeting, during which he addressed the Yale meet and training through finals. He also talked about a volunteer stint we will be undertaking at the Amherst Survival Shelter this coming Thursday.
