The Eagles have taken seven of the last eight against UMass, with the Minutewomen's last win in the series coming on Nov. 14, 2007, in Amherst.

    Last Time Against Boston College

  • UMass women's basketball sophomore Shakia Robinson logged her first career double-double and senior Megan Zullo recorded 22 points, but the efforts were not enough to withstand a second half surge by Boston College in a 93-80 setback at the Mullins Center on Dec. 5, 2010.
  • For a third straight game, UMass shot over 50%, aided by an 11-for-14 performance from Robinson, who totaled 25 points and 10 rebounds. Scoring in double figures for a fifth-straight game, Zullo shot 8-for-11 in the contest, including 5-for-7 from three, while handing out a game-high seven assists.
  • Junior Emilie Teuscher enjoyed a career day for the Minutewomen, posting personal bests in points (13) and rebounds (7) against BC. Senior Cerie Mosgrove totaled seven points and freshman Abbey Lalime dished five assists in 19 minutes on the floor.
  • UMass began the afternoon with a pair of threes from Zullo and Teuscher to lead 6-2 in the opening minutes. Neither side managed more than a two-possession advantage until the Eagles scored on consecutive possessions around the eight-minute mark. A layup by Carolyn Swords and a trey from Tiffany Ruffin gave Boston College an eight-point edge, 24-16, with 7:40 remaining in the period.
  • The Minutewomen countered with a Robinson layup at the other end of the floor that sparked a 17-6 UMass run over the next 4:22 of play. Robinson scored 10 during that stretch, including a basket at the 3:03 mark that gave the Minutewomen a five-point lead, their largest of the contest, 35-30. However, the Eagles were quick to respond and outscored UMass 9-2 in the final 2:02 of the period and held a 41-39 advantage at the intermission.
  • Swords kept the momentum moving in BC's direction coming out of the break by scoring eight points in the first 2:55 of the second half, part of a 13-4 run that gave the Eagles their first double-digit lead of the day, 54-43. The Minutewomen kept their deficit under 15, but were unable to come any closer than seven of Boston College the rest of the way.
  • After shooting a blistering 65.4% (17-for-26) from the floor in the first half, UMass finished the contest at 54.7% (29-for-53) overall. The Minutewomen made 9-for-21 (42.9%) from three and converted 13-of-15 (86.7%) free throw attempts. BC shot 36-for-74 (48.6%) overall, were 8-for-26 (30.8%) from beyond the arc and 13-of-19 (68.4%) at the charity stripe.

Last Time: Mason Holds Off Minutewomen, 55-52

  • The UMass women's basketball team spent most of the contest within striking distance of George Mason, but 32 points from Taleia Moton helped the Patriots hold off the Minutewomen, 55-52, on Dec. 1 at the Patriot Center.
  • It marked the second straight game for UMass that was decided by three points. Four of the Minutewomen's seven games on the year have been decided by five points or less, five of seven have been 10-point or less margins.
  • Junior Jasmine Watson scored in double figures for the sixth straight game, totaling 14 points and six boards. It was her 37th time in double figures in her career.

  • UMass brings back five of its top-six returning scorers or 65% of the team's point production from a year ago. Those five were also five of the top-six rebounders, accounting for 594 of the team's 1091 boards in 2010-11 or 54%.

Her total of 135 helpers was the ninth-best single season total of all time in program history, while her tally of 70 three-pointers is second-most on the single season list. She set UMass records for minutes played in a season in 2010-11 with 1,136 and minutes average (37.9).
  • Through two seasons and counting with the Minutewomen after coming from N.C. State, Zullo has totaled 598 career points, 232 assists and is 139-for-368 (.378) beyond the arc. • The total is second all-time in program history for a single game, trailing only her aunt, the late Christel Zullo, who dished 15 assists against Temple on Feb. 14, 1986.
  • Earlier this fall, Zullo was named to the College Sports Madness Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference second team.

    All That Jas

  • Junior Jasmine Watson, UMass' top returning scorer, has been named to the preseason Atlantic 10 third team for a second straight year.
